New Hawkeye Set Photos

A few new set photos have emerged from the upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye. Shot in New York, the images feature Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop all suited up and ready to shoot an unknown target with her bow and arrow. This new look at the upcoming Marvel hero series continues to build excitement for the upcoming release.

Just like any other Marvel series, Hawkeye is expected to feature a lot of the trademark action fans have come to expect from the studio. These latest photos show what looks to be an exciting scene involving Steinfeld and Renner shooting a vehicle with a fan-favorite villain from the comic book series.

The new shots also give us our first glimpse at Alaqua Cox as Echo, a deaf Native American hero. As you can see in the picture below from Murphy’s Multiverse, her costume is very similar to the one she wears in Matt Fraction and David Aja’s Hawkeye comic book series. Her unique face paint, however, makes it a bit different from the usual Marvel Studios costumes.

It’s not a huge surprise to see Cox in these pictures as it has been reported that she will play a major role in the upcoming series. The addition of a deaf hero to the MCU is long overdue and will certainly be welcome by fans. Her acrobatic and martial arts skills will surely be of use to both Bishop and Barton.

With the recent release of a teaser trailer, it’s clear that the new hawkeye series will be taking place in New York City. This is a nod to the original comic book series and to Jeremy Renner’s character Clint Barton’s life in the five boroughs. This could offer some hints as to how the series will connect to the events of Avengers: Endgame, especially with regard to Barton’s time as Ronin.

Of course, no Hawkeye series would be complete without a look at the hero’s signature bow and arrow. The trailer shows off a number of different versions of the weapon with each one looking more and more like the actual comic book version. It will be interesting to see which one ends up being the final weapon in the series.

As for the rest of the cast, Jeremy Renner will once again return as Clint Barton in the upcoming series. His protege Kate Bishop will be played by Hailee Steinfeld, while the series will also star Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne/Swordsman. The series is written by Jonathan Igla and directed by Bert & Bertie and Rhys Thomas.

While it may not be as exciting as a release date, it is great to continue to get more and more tidbits about the upcoming Marvel tv show. As you can see in the image below, taken from a recent post by Steinfeld on Instagram, she is very excited to be part of the project. Stay tuned for more on the upcoming hawkeye series when it arrives on Disney+ later this year.
