Kate Bishop Will Make Her MCU Debut on Disney+’s Hawkeye

In the comic book series Marvel’s Avengers, Kate Bishop is introduced as Clint Barton’s protege. Ever since her appearance in the series, Hailee Steinfeld has been attached to several MCU projects. President Kevin Feige was reportedly sure he’d find the right actress for Kate Bishop when he first saw her in the Avengers. However, a few scheduling conflicts have prevented Steinfeld from joining Hawkeye. Steinfeld, whose upcoming Dickinson series will be released on Apple TV Plus in December 2020, has been working on the project.

As a young girl, Bishop aspired to become a lawyer, but when her mother’s fiance, Jack Duquesne, died, Bishop discovered that her idol Hawkeye was actually a vigilante – a Ronin. Though Yelena Belova tries to paint Clint Barton as a villain, Bishop is convinced he is good. While he’s made mistakes and sacrificed his life for the good of the world, he’s a good man, despite his mistakes.

Clara Stack is the youngest cast member in the Hawkeye film series, playing a young Kate Bishop. Born on October 20, 2010, in New York, she will be 11 years old when Hawkeye hits theaters. Her character, named Kate, first appeared in the show’s first episode, which opens with a flashback of the Battle of New York. She watches Clint Barton’s performance and admires her soaring bow skills.

Since her debut in the Young Avengers series, Kate Bishop has been a relatively absent presence in the Marvel universe, aside from one non-speaking appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, she appeared as a playable character. She also made an appearance in several free-to-play Marvel games. Her character is even playable in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. But now, she’ll finally make her MCU debut on Disney+’s Hawkeye.

In the comics, Bishop was a member of the Young Avengers. At first, Clint Barton was dead. Kate eventually became Clint’s partner, and they battled side by side for the rest of the Marvel Universe. In a Hawkeye solo comic by Matt Fraction, she raised Clint’s dog. Ultimately, she became the successor to Clint Barton as Hawkeye.

Kate Bishop is a child of privilege and wealth in Manhattan. At an early age, she began training as an archer to protect her younger sister from a gang of thieves. A violent attack in Central Park spurred her on to pursue her training in combat. After the attack, she became an adept archer, and gained the attention of the Young Avengers.
