Hawkeye Young Avengers – A Touching Moment

Among the many glitzy and exciting action scenes in the Marvel TV series Hawkeye Young Avengers, there was one particularly memorable moment that was surprisingly touching. It showed Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) embracing her team members in a moment of solidarity and support as they battled a horde of robots, and it was all thanks to a single kiss.

This was the first time that we’d seen any of the team bonding, and it set a tone for what the series would become. From there, we got a glimpse of what could be in store for future episodes and perhaps even a larger ensemble project.

The Young Avengers are a group of young super heroes brought together by the time-traveling Kang despot Iron Lad, who sends them on missions to protect Earth from threats from other universes. The team includes the arrow-wielding Hawkeye, the chaos-magic user Patriot, the speedster Tommy Shepherd, and the size-morphing Stature. They are joined by the interdimensional Super Hero America Chavez and the super-genius David Alleyne, who goes by Prodigy. The team is rounded out by the shape-shifting alien hybrid Hulkling and the reincarnated God of Mischief Loki Laufeyson, who calls himself Kid Loki when he’s not manipulating or opposing the Young Avengers.

While Kamala Khan wasn’t in the original 2005 Young Avengers lineup by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung, she did join their later reincarnation with Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie. Since then, we’ve also seen a younger version of Vision (Paul Bettany) and Maria Rambeau’s Binary (Harley Keener).

With all these different characters now available to Marvel, there are countless possibilities for what could happen with a new Young Avengers team. The best candidates are probably Billy and Tommy Shepherd, Wanda Maximoff’s children who are able to manipulate reality and perform magic, as well as Speed, the super fast son of Tommy. They were erased from existence after Wanda gave up control of Westview, but the Multiverse of Madness has shown us that they are alive in other dimensions, so a return for them is certainly possible.

Another potential option is the kids that Kate’s brother Jack begat with Noh-Varr, who is able to read minds. He ran a scan on Hood’s hardware and determined that he betrayed the team by encrypting information so that only he could read it. This led to a brawl between the pair that ended with Noh-Varr punching Hood.
