When it comes to super heroes, no one is as well-versed in the finer points of villainy as Hawkeye. The archer has fought side-by-side with his most legendary foes, and battled ferocious opponents who dwarfed his skills. He’s faced down death and been brought back to life multiple times. So it’s no surprise that his enemies have also risen to the occasion and been equal matches for him.
Thankfully, the aforementioned marksman has been able to overcome many obstacles with his ruthless precision and impressive skill set. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of worthy adversaries waiting in the wings. In the comics, he’s clashed with many different criminal masterminds and even turned over a new leaf to join the hero ranks. Whether it’s a reformed Swordsman or the stereotypical Tracksuit Mafia, these bad guys are more than ready to take him out.
The most obvious of hawkeye villains to make an appearance in the series is Wilson Fisk. His gangster empire is spread across the city, and he’s known to be a major antagonist for the MCU’s top heroes. The show has already teased the presence of Kingpin’s protege, Maya Lopez (Echo), who works for him. IMDB also confirms that Native American actor Zahn McClarnon will play William Lopez, Echo’s father who was killed by Kingpin in the comics.
Another obvious villain is Crossfire, a ruthless marksman and former CIA agent. He once worked for Cross Technological Enterprises, and uncovered corruption within the company. This pitted him against the heroes, including Hawkeye and Mockingbird. However, they were able to triumph over him — despite his having cybernetic enhancements that give him the edge in combat. Nevertheless, his ability to shoot at incredible speed makes him a formidable foe for the duo.
A lesser-known hawkeye villain is Kazimierz “Kazi” Kazimierczak, who made his live-action debut in the 2021 Hawkeye miniseries on Disney+. He’s a member of the Tracksuit Mafia, and has worked for Wilson Fisk. He’s also responsible for deafening Hawkeye by shooting arrows in his ears, but the archer overcame him with a sonic arrow.
The Tracksuit Mafia, or as Hawkeye affectionately calls them, the “Tracksuit Draculas,” are a group of Eastern European criminals who are known for their stereotypical use of the word “bro.” They first appeared in the comics during Hawkeye’s 2012 run, where they were working for landlord Ivan Banionis. He attempted to raise the rent for a building in which Barton lived, but the archer refused to be evicted and bought the building himself. This irked the criminal syndicate, which led to several clashes between them. Despite their stereotypical macho language, these criminals are dangerously skilled. And they’re all wearing tracksuits, of course.
