Hawkeye – The Young Avengers’ Youngest Child

While the Young Avengers haven’t been a part of the main Marvel continuity since 2014, Hailee Steinfeld is bringing them back to life in a Disney+ series called Hawkeye. The show focuses on the daughter of Clint Barton and the first Young Avenger to take up her father’s name and costume. Kate rebuffed Captain America and Iron Man when they tried to force her to give up the name Hawkeye, but she did say that it would never happen if she was the one to start it.

Jeremy Renner’s version of Hawkeye is an agent for S.H.I.E.L.D., and he’s kept his past and private life a secret. Kate Bishop is his daughter, and she was inspired to become an Avenger after he rescued her from the Battle of New York. Despite being the youngest member of the team, she isn’t afraid to stand up to her older teammates when it comes to leadership and authority. She was also the first Young Avenger to take up a superhero name, and she’s a fan favorite thanks to her dynamic abilities and sense of humor.

When the Young Avengers sided with Captain America’s anti-registration faction during the first Super Hero Civil War, Kate refused to give up her nickname and costume for Cap. Her father didn’t agree with her, but he agreed that she was a good kid and didn’t have any problem with her taking his bow and arrows. He even sent her a personalized note and the same bow and arrows that he used as Hawkeye, which was touching.

In the 2015 film Age of Ultron, it’s shown that Hawkeye has two kids — a son named Cooper and a daughter named Lila. He also has a third child that wasn’t shown in the film, but Endgame is set many years after and it’s assumed that the third child is still alive.

The young Hawkeye who was killed by Thanos in the snap was actually a random kid who was pulled into the quantum realm for dramatic effect. It was used to emphasize the loss that the other Avengers had suffered, and it’s possible that this kid will be brought back in a future episode of Avengers: Endgame.

In the comics, the third known Hawkeye is Francis Barton, the potential future son of Clint and Bobbi. He grew up in a world controlled by Ultron after the original Avengers were destroyed, and he was raised by Clint, who taught him archery. When he met the other Children and Hulk, he worked with them to rebuild the world from the rubble of Ultron’s destruction. Considering the relationship between the Young Avengers and the future children, it’s not hard to see why some fans have speculated that this kid could be brought back as the next Hawkeye. That is, if the rumors are true that a Disney+ episode will show us a younger Francis. If so, we’re sure that’ll be a huge treat for fans.
